Re: Using filters in @uifiledlg
There's actually two types of filter going on. The one we currently support is basically "what type of thing am I opening/saving?" where the answer is workfile (i.e. a dataset including Excel, Stata, CSV, etc...), a database or a program. Withing the workfile setting there is a secondary ...

Re: Crashing on previewing series
Hello Adrian, The first thing I would check is that you are up to date. Select help->EViews update to verify that you are up to date. Secondly, if possible please send your workfile to support@eviews.com. Does Does EViews crash on a particular series or randomly selected series? Jason I checked it ...

Crashing on previewing series
Hi,
I began using "preview" of the series as I found it very convienient option, but within an hour Eviews crashed three times while clicking from one series preview to another (just info: Eviews stopped working). Would be fine if you took a look at it and fixed it, thanks

CSV file import problem
Hi there,
I have a problem with reading a csv file into eviews. I don't know what is wrong with this file, Excel reads it, but Eviews cannot. Can you verify this please?
thanks

Re: Importing dated series into panel workfile
So I opened up the workfile in EViews, then dragged the Excel file onto the workfile. I just hit Finish on the import dialog, and didn't link, and overwrote the existing variable. EViews then does as it should - it repeats values for each date. Could you outline the steps you do that doesn't result...

Importing dated series into panel workfile
Hi, maybe it is not a "bug", but I treat it as somethig devaluating Eviews 9 compared to Eviews 7 or 8. I have a dated panel structured workfile, let's say with weekly data for IDs A and B. Now I want to import data into this workfile, not unique for every ID, so only with dates in Excel f...

OLS Estimation - resetting covariance method
Hi there,
in Eviews 9 there is a situation that after changing covariance method from Ordinary to HAC Newey-West, Eviews only remembers it until you save the workfile. After saving, it is again Ordinary... Repair this please
cheers

Data append one-to-many
Dear Eviews masters :) I need your help in such a case (see attachment, Eviews 8.1): - I want my final dataset to be structured by id variable called conversionid. In the same Eviews page I have userid which indicates which user did a conversion - in the example I left one case where there is one us...

Changing type of series in wfopen
Hi, I would like to change the type of a few series while reading them in a new workfile. I know there is a possibility of changing it using "types" argument, but it is not obvious to me how to use it in the situation when I know the names of series to change, but not especially whether it...

Expanding string list from wildcard
Hi, Suppose that there is a dialogbox in which a user types in names of variables (series) which he wants to change, and we want to use asterisk to do it, e.g. a user can type in: sales_* . I know there is a way of expanding this list by creating a group and using @members attribute, but is there an...

Re: Opening CSV with very long strings
Good news, but would it be also available in Eviews 8.1 or only 9?In the next patch, EViews will use the max alpha length (set in the general options dialog) to parse column widths up to 1000 chars. The current limitation is 250 characters.

Opening CSV with very long strings
Hi, I would like to open in Eviews some data from CSV comma-delimeted file, but I there is problem with a column where there is too long a string. There are strings having over 800 characters, and Eviews pushes parts of this string to other variables (objects) in a workfile that are next to the alph...
