Whatever the name of the column containing dates you put in the date series box, and the name of the column containing cross-sections you put in the cross section series box.

You can't have a "." in an EViews series name. Try pays_code

So you have a 3D panel?

Traditional panels are 2 dimensional. You have a time index and a cross-section index. Nearly all econometric theory works only with 2D panels.

thank you for the explanation. I realize that I was wrong it is just banks and years (without coutry). I've juste tried now but it's the same ("repeated values in the ressource id series)!!

Hi all, and lana in particular,

how did you manage to get the excel model as in capture2.docx??
I am struggling with my bankscope export, because I don't know how to import it to EViews (it is not like one of the examples on http://forums.eviews.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=74

My excel model looks like this (example):

Bank..........Total assets 2014.......Total assets 2013.......Total asset 2012......Equity 2014........Equity 2013......Equity 2012 etc
Citigroup............80........................70..........................60...................40....................35..................30
JP Morgan...........70........................60..........................50...................30....................25..................20
etc

I have 4939 banks, 11 variables and 15 years in total. Do you know a way to import this file into EViews? Or how to restructure my Excel model in a way that it can be imported easily?

Thanks!
