Re: Export specific day
You have a 5 day daily page. You want to create a new series in that same page that only has data on Wednesdays (the other days are NA)?
If so:
where X is the name of the original series.
If so:
Code: Select all
smpl if @weekday = 3
series newseries = x
Re: Export specific day
My target is to take from the initial series which is daily(5 day week) the prices for wednesdays in order to calculate the returns betteen them. More specific i have 5 day prices for financial indexes and i want to calculate the returns from Wednesday to Wednesday.

Re: Export specific day
I followed these steps but when i choose below the choice "Merge by" the choice "Date" the selection " Frequency conversion options" is not highlighted. Even when i choose the choice " General match merge criteria" at the right comes up "Match merge options" with the options that you can see in the image that i attached to you. I choose then " Contaction method" the option last but as a weekly page i get the initial daily page.

Re: Export specific day
Click on the New Page tab, select Specify by Frequency/Range..., then change the frequency to be weekly.
Re: Export specific day
I followed exactly what you proposed me to do but i noticed that in my new weekly page although the prices are for Wednesdays the dates are not right. More specific for example the price for 1/10/1997 now has a different date which is 4 days earlier, in my example becomes 1/04/1997. I noticed also that changing the start date each time the new weekly page that is created has prices for different days each time. For example when i choose as a start date 1/1/1980(tuesday) then the weekly page contains all the prices for Mondays, but when i choose as a start date 1/2/1980 then the weekly page contains all the prices for Tuesdays and when i choose as a start date 1/3/1980(tuesday) then the weekly page contains all the prices for Wednesdays. In three cases the prices are not follow the right date. What am i missing?
Thank you a lot!!
