Panel Data Import problem

Hi guys,

I'm using Evies 7.2

I'm trying to import panel data from excel. I go to File, open, foreign data as work file. I select my excel file.

Everything looks good so far., I go to Step 1 and select the sheet. How cool, I see my data!

I go to step 2, and I toggle through, making sure everything is good. Data types look right. I see my data. Still good.

I click next. Now in Step 3, suddenly all my data is coming through as N/A!
What's the problem here?

Works for me. What's the build date of your copy of EViews? (Available from Help->About EViews).

Hi everyone,

I am trying to import panel data from Excel into Eviews 8. I have attempted to follow the you tube tutorial on it but keep getting the message 'Bank is not defined'. This is my first time using Eviwews and have been blundering about in the dark with it.

I have attached my excel file. If anyone could give me any advice or nudge my in the right direction I would apprecaite it. The software is completely over my head.

First thing you should do is make your column and row headings in Excel into shorter codes without special characters. They're too long and unwieldy right now.

Thank you for replying, it seems to be working well when I tried importing again today I don't know what was the problem earlier...

i had the same problem till i found out it is because in the same time was opened both files/programs - eviews and excell. When i closed my excell file and imported it to eviews then everything somehow worked out and eviews recognized all data!
