Hello.

Say my original monthly time series ranges from 2000 to 2010.

The series is modelled are forecasts are made for months throughout 2011.

I plot the series on a chart and realize that the shape of curve for forecasted data aren't exactly what I want to get.

Is it possible with Eviews to display the line chart for the series and a vector for forecasted months where I could manually adjust the forecasted numbers? Chart must update automatically as I enter a new adjustment factor in the vector (this last point is essential).

I'm not sure I fully understand what you're asking.

But, yes, it is possible to have charts that update as the underlying series changes.

If you look up "update" in the help system or manuals, you'll see an entry for Updating Graphs.

I would like to rephrase my initial query.

- I have a database with many monthly time series.
- I want it to be GUI-like. Programming is ok.
- I want my screen to be divided into 2 separate parts.
* Data (group object , spreadsheet)
* Chart
- I want the chart to update as a number is changed in the spreadsheet.
- The corresponding chart is displayed as I activate another column in the spreadsheet. I just want a single line on my chart.
- I need the data to be saved in the original eviews database as those 'manual adjustments' in the series are done ; I don't need the chart in the end.
- I add that the series I want to adjust manually are always the same in the group object (but the values are updated every 1 or 2 weeks; they are a mix of historical data and regression results).

That bit cannot be done. Everything else you describe is what updating graphs do.
