Hi,
I am trying to import panel data from Excel. I am hoping there is a way to do this without having to manipulate the data set in Excel too much. I have 64 cross sections for 1997-2012, and two variables for each cross section.
In the attached Excel document Book1.xlsx is an example of the data I have. My question is, do I have to rearrange the data in Excel (such as in Panel.xls) in order to import it into EViews? Or can it be done with minimal changes to my Excel file?
Thanks for help!

Re: Import panel data from Excel
There isn't a good way to get it from the existing format.
You can transpose it in Excel (which is just a copy and then paste special), then read it in as a sort of pool, then convert from pool to panel.
