Re: Speed up model.control proc
Got it, thanks. If you stumble on anything that might make this run faster please let me know. For now, we're clinging on to EV8 for this part of our process

Re: Speed up model.control proc
Understood. It sounds like there are no options that can be adjusted by the user -- is that right? I am curious though -- are you able to run the code with this workfile in EV14 to see how long it takes there? I get similar results using a 7-year-old laptop and a brand new one, so the system specs s...

Speed up model.control proc
This post is long overdue, but when I upgraded from EViews 8.1 to EViews 12, I noticed that the model.control procedure was taking much longer to complete. Is there a difference in how the two versions perform this procedure? Are there any settings I can change to speed up the calculation? I've cons...

Edit variable names in equation without re-estimating
I have a question about equation objects. If I want to change a variable name in the workfile, I also have to change it within any equation object that uses the variable. The only way I have been able to do this is by re-estimating the equation with the new variable name, however I'd like to keep th...

Finding max and min of scalar objects
Is there an EViews function that will find the max/min/etc of a set of scalar values? The @max command is only valid for series objects. I can think of roundabout ways to do this (copy all scalars to a series and then use @max or use a bunch of indicator functions) but I wanted to know if this featu...
