Code Repository!!!

Postby JimForest » Sat Oct 18, 2008 9:53 am

Are there any plans to set up a site with user-contributed programs and procedures??

Right now RATS and MATLAB have great sites for this sort of thing. Really with the same could be said for EViews!!

Yep, it is something we would like to add at some point.

As a temporary measure, what about setting up a forum area for uploading code as attachments? Since the board is searchable, this might get things part way.

It might be useful to encourage some minimal commenting standard, say beginning the file with EViews comments containing author name and date?

Yes, i agree that setting up a forum would be a great way of doing this.

I would recommend that files have a comment structure that requires the author name, date created, software version and a short description of the program.

I would definitely use the site more if it had this section added to it!!!!
