Bai-Perron breakpoint test on Eviews 7.2

Postby marthaluff » Thu Sep 12, 2013 8:05 am

Hi there,
I have Eviews 7.2 and need to do a Bai-Perron breakpoint test. I read some of the threads and tried to install the add-in which was posted by Gareth on 5th April 2010. I got a message to say 'there was a problem sending the command to the program', however it did seem to go ahead and install the add-in in my Eviews Add-ins folder. And on Eviews it said Bai Perron. aipz installation complete. By the way I also downloaded R 3.01 as it said on the thread that it was needed.
However, when I estimated an equation and tried to select Stability Diagnostics, there was no option for Multiple Breakpoint Test, so I'm thinking that it didn't install?
Could you advise? Or is just better to upgrade to Eviews 8, if that's not too expensive.....(I'm an underpaid PhD student). Also one last question, if I get the Eviews 8 student version is that good enough to do the Bai-Perron tests?

Thanks in advance,

EViews Gareth

You're probably best off just buying the student version of 8 (which, yes, can perform the Bai-Perron test).
