Copying graphs to the clipboard in Eviews 8

Postby fbrayton » Fri Jun 14, 2013 1:07 pm

I have recently switched from EV 7 to EV 8. The Graph Metafile dialog box that pops up in EV7 doesn't come up when I use EV 8. The Users Guide indicates that the Options/Graphics Defaults/Exporting page in EV 8 should be able to turn on the dialog box, but the "display options dialog on all copy operations" check box that is there in EV 7 is missing in EV 8.

Yep, that dialog was removed in EV8.

The introduction of OLE allowed us to implement some changes to the clipboard copy operation, especially for Graphs. The choice between EMF and WMF was basically taken away as WMF was deprecated and only generated when the calling application (such as Word or PowerPoint) asked for it specifically.

With those radio buttons gone, the black/white option and the transparent option wasn't enough to justify keeping the dialog. Those options are still editable in the Options->Graphics Defaults->Frame & Size->Color & Border (which will affect all graphs created after that point), or in the Graph Options dialog (for each specific graph).
