Now, I'm exploring the possibility of using odbc connectivity option of the wfopen command to connect directly to Bloomberg API's and fetch the relevent data to create the workfile instead of using COM interface and VBA with Excel as an intermediary between Bloomberg and EViews. Is it possible?
I've tried using the command:
wfopen(type=odbc) BLP_DATA_CTRLLib.BlpData
and got a response saying:
"Database format requires EViews Enterprise Edition"
I'm working on EViews 8 Standard Edition, so is this the only thing that's working against me? Or as before, there is something that I'm doing wrong?
P.S. I really appreciate the user community here for their active participation and kind help!
Cheers,
Gunjan

Re: Regarding connectivity to Bloomberg
I'm not sure if Bloomberg supports ODBC. If does, then, it should work for you, as long as you have the Enterprise Edition.
