I already have my datastream login and password.

Re: Datastream
Assuming you already have Thomson Dataworks installed (contact your Thomson rep, if you do not) and you are asking how to add Datastream to the EViews database registry (and not the Windows registry), select options->database registry and then click 'add new entry'.
From the Database Registry Entry dialog, enter an alias, choose 'Datastream Database' for Database/File type, and enter your login information.

Re: Datastream
I followed your instructions but I am still not able to use the command fetch(d=datastream) as I get an error message saying " Database Error: Datastream library error "Unexpected Response (Internal Server Error)"

Re: Datastream
That normally means your login credentials are incorrect. In my experience with Datastream all usernames begin with 'ds:'. If username does not start with ds:, prepend 'ds:' and try that.
You can also try this website. This is their test website.
http://europe.dataworks.thomson.com/dat ... fault.aspx
Enter your username and password.
For Source use "Datastream" without the quotes.
For Instrument, use "MKS" without the quotes.
You will then get a XML formatted response from their server. In the response, there should be a more detailed reason for failure.

Re: Datastream
Thank you, Jason. You were right, the account manager forgot to specify to add DS: in front of the user name.
