make a variable

Postby samin » Sun May 13, 2012 9:39 am

hi
l want to make variables named Y and X with according to:
x=10+5*nrnd
y=2+2*x-0.5x(-1)+0.7*y(-1)+5*nrnd
from 1951 to 1990
the used data for x=5 for 1950
plz tell me how i should order?

i generated x with:
GENR x=10+0.5*nrnd
1) i dont know that is it true
2) i could not generate Y by the same way?

You need to set a value for Y in 1950.

You need to set a value for Y in 1950.
tnx.but which value? i think the problem is with the y(-1), because we did not have y so how we can use y(-1)
dont what should i do?!

Can't help you with that bit - that's an economics question.

You made up data for x. Why not make up data for y? say y_1950 = 0.
