Copying Graphs into Word

Postby ina99 » Thu Mar 22, 2012 9:32 pm

Hi all,

I'm using Eviews 7 the Student Version and i am having problems copying
graphs into a word document.

Specifically I don't get the metafile dialog box, in order to disable the colours and
to choose between WMF and EMF options.
As a consequence in word the graph axis labels are upside down and of course the graph is in colour.

I looked up Eviews help and consequently went to Options > Graphics Defalut > Exporting
but the "Display options dialog on all copy operations" is already selected. I also tried disabling the "use colour" option
and also tried changing the file type from "pdf" to "emf".

I'm not sure if this is a restriction of the student version, although i doubt that.

If anyone could help it'd be greatly appreciated!

Is this for the Mac or Windows version?

Secondly, what is the build date of your copy (help->about EViews)?

It's for the Mac version

and the build date is "GNU Lesser General Public License Version 2.1 February 1999""
that is the only date i could find in Eviews>About

Both emf and wmf are not recognized file types by OSX. This is why EViews puts pdf onto the clipboard in the Mac version. In the next patch we will add the ability to specify color/no-color.

The options found in Options > Graphics Defalut > Exporting are used when saving a graph to a file on disk. This has no effect when copying to the clipboard.

Also if you do not mind, please send your workfile to support@eviews.com. I am unable to recreate the issue where the axis labels are upside down. I would like to get that fixed as well in the next patch.

Thank you so much.
I was driving myself crazy trying to fix this.
