Save Columns as Individual Objects

Postby bm13 » Fri Dec 23, 2011 12:08 am

Hi. I am using Eviews 6.

I am working with 10 separate objects. Each object has 1000 observations, and is one column wide. I have grouped these together to form a matrix that is 1000 tall by 10 wide. I want to transpose the matrix to 10x1000, and then create 1000 separate objects.

I read through the Eviews Programming Guide and a few other threads, but to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

If I am reading this correctly, you have a single matrix that is (10x1000), and you want to create 1000 separate vectors that contain each column of the matrix?

Code: Select all

for !i=1 to 1000 vector x!i = @columnextract(x, !i) next
where x is the name of your matrix.

Thank you very much -- that worked perfectly. :)
