forecast next values

Hello,

is it possible just to make forecast for a variable? the idea is like this: my sample (trade balance) is set from 1997-2010 (yearly). From this sample, i just want to look the situation or condition of sample for 5-10 years ahead. Let say, i would like to know for year 2015.

How do I get it to forecast these next values?

Hi,
I'm new to Eviews, trying to discover its capabilities in relation to forecasting. I run a very simple regression log(gva) c year ar(1) ar(2) which provides a very good fit compared to actual data, say 1950 -2009. If I use the forecast option and specify the period beyond 2009, it shows trend only, failing to capture cyclical fluctuations. Apparently I'm doing something wrong and probably need to programme forecast inputs manually. Would be grateful for advice.
