@date dummies and inequality sign auto-switching

Hey Guys, how are you?

I am trying to split a variable into two when I discovered that there seems to be a problem between UpdateGroup function and the database. Here's what I have done:

show (@date<@dateval("4/24/2011", "mm/dd/yyyy"))*db1::varA (@date>=@dateval("4/24/2011", "mm/dd/yyyy"))*db1::varA

It doesn't matter if I put this in a group (by creating one) or using show (which results in the same thing anyway), Eviews automatically switches the inequality sign (">=") in the second variable into a "<" (and sometimes the other way around, making the first "<" into a ">="). This only happens when I multiply each of these dummies with the same variable from the database. Any ideas why that's so? Would you please let me know? Thanks.

I cannot replicate that. I think the following shows what you're doing, and it looks to me as though the inequality is consistent:
