Export data to existing excel file

Postby johansamuelsson » Thu Mar 03, 2011 10:52 pm

Hello

I mainly use EViews to my calculations, but sometimes it can be more transparent to analyze some results in Excel, particularly if we want to make small adjustments to the calculations. I am therefore in need of shovelling data between EViews and Excel.

I'm having problems exporting data to an existing existing Excel file. For example, how do I write a batch file (*.prg-file) which exports (as rows) "series1" and "series2" period 2000q1 to 2010q4, starting in cell B2 to a sheet that is named "Input"? In another sheet I then use data from the "Input" to analyze and complete the calculations.

Note, I do not want to use the Add-In / GetDate but instead just write simple code in the prg-files.

Our company is currently using Office XP, but has plans to move to a newer version.

Thanks in advance

Unfortunately I believe it is not possible to write into an existing Excel file.

OK, thanks for the reply, are there any plans for this type of feature in future versions?

I second johansamuelsson! It would be great if one could export data to an existing Excel file.
