Problem with commands

Postby lucaski » Fri Feb 11, 2011 8:47 pm

I am trying to use commands like @recode and @obs, but my eviews 7 always responds saying that these are illegal command or not defined. I do not know what is happening. For example, i'm trying to divide by 2 the obs of my series called vlaverage if they are bigger than 150.

@recode (vlaverage>150,vlaverage/2,vlaverage)

However, my eviews do not do anything.

Two problems. First @recode is a series generation command. i.e. it has to be on the right hand side of an equals sign, with a series on the left hand side. Secondly it appears as though you have a space between the @recode and the parenthesis.
