Urgent help please in using If command

Postby OLS » Sat Jan 22, 2011 4:52 am

Hi All!

I am new to Eviews and i want your help to do a simple programming.

I am having unpalanced data for banks from the year 1992 to 2008 for 53 countries, each country at least have one bank.

I want to sum the assets for each year for each country so in the end i will have the total assets for each year for each country. Then i want to divid the result for each year by the GDP of that year for each country.

Can any one help me in doing this programe.

Thank you for your help.

You want to set up a new page with country and year as indices. Then copy and paste your data into that page

Treat data in Excel and then read the treated data to Eviews. Just a thought.

Can you be more specific about
Then i want to divid [sic] the result for each year by the GDP of that year for each country.
Is that divide the result for each bank/year observation by the country/year aggregate? Or something different?
