From time to time (and for no apparent reason), I get the following error message while running a program in Eviews:
An open database or registry entry is using the name XXX in "DBOPEN ... as XXX".
This happens randomly and I know that I don't have any databases open with an identical name when it does happen. Any ideas what this could be?

Re: Eviews Database error message
2 things to look at 1)verify your copy of EViews is up to date (select help->About EViews) and 2)check the database registry for any conflicts (options->database registry).
Assuming the above has been done, in the event the error occurs again, look at the EViews status bar (bottom portion of EViews where messages are displayed). In the 3rd box where 'DB=...', verify the default database also different.
