forecast component downloading

Postby kun0_kun » Tue Nov 04, 2025 9:27 am

When I download a timeseries that has a forecast component (ie U.S. CPI from Oxford economics with data until 2040), it comes in no problem on my machine... but when my colleague runs the same program on his machine his series all end in 2024. Is there an Eviews setting to opt out of forecast components and if so, how can I find it?

Generally when you fetch data from a database, it is fetched into an existing workfile, and only fetches data for the range of that workfile. So if you have a workfile that ends in 2040, it will fetch data until 2040 (assuming such data exists in the database). If you have a workfile that ends in 2024, you will fetch only until 2024.

Yeah, this is not the case. Same coding, same workfile creation parameters (1990 2040), two computers, two different end dates to the same downloaded series.... Datastream defines the data post 2024 as a "forecast" and when I fetch data it gives me the post 2024 data but when my colleague runs it, the "forecast" data don't come in... I thought it might have been a difference in how our eviews was setup on our respective machines.
