Hi,
First of all, i would to think EViews team for all their efforts to make this Add-in

;
i have data frequency weekly named gas, so i want to make fanchart for my data the problem i use the Add-in but can give me a result, and i have use the program in the blog to make mode, skewness and uncertainty. but i get error mesage: Error in Sample: MODE is not defined in "SMPL IF MODE<>NA".
could you just explain in few line the steps for this.
Best CHERIF.

ok, but i have no idea what is the problem i can't get mode, skewness and uncertainty series, or in first create it in the workfile, and next use the Add-in.
(*)the prg calcquant i use it in the first to generate mode, skewness and uncertainty.
could you exmplain please i have no idea to use this Add-in :(

I'm not sure what there is to explain. In order to calculate a Bank of England style fan chart, you need to have the mode, uncertainty and skewness values of your forecast.
The add-in does not calculate those for you, it uses them as inputs.

i understand now, so the calcquant prg are the way to make mode, skewness and uncertainty.
thanks for you help :)

Hi Gareth,
how do i use the fanchart addin using program code?
i tried
but then the option menu came up?
can you also give the precise link to where BoE explains the skewness and uncertainty series?

There is no command line interface to this add-in. You're better off stealing the source code and adding it to your own program to suit your needs.
This paper (although not a BoE paper) explains the methodology well:
