Hi There,
I have two workfiles open, one in quarterly frequency and the other annual. Is there a way I can copy data from the annual file to the quarterly without applying a frequency conversion? I'm using Eviews 8.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Andrew

How do you want to line up the observations?

No, HOW do you want to line them up? Where does the 2001 value go?

Sorry, I misread your question.
I suppose (for example) the 2001 annual value should map onto 2001q4.
Is there any way of having two different frequencies on the same page of a workfile?

Re: Copy data without frequency conversion.
You cannot have two frequencies on the same page.
If you put the 2001 value into 2001q4, what do you want 2001q1 2001q2 and 2001q3 to be?
In EViews 9 you would simply use the Point match Last conversion method, which would NA out the other three quarters. To do the same in EViews 8 is a little more tricky. You can use Constant match Average as the frequency conversion method, which would put the 2001 value into 2001q1, 2001q2, 2001q3 and 2001q4, then you could NA out the other quarters afterwards.
