weighting

Postby rodcamb » Sun Aug 09, 2015 10:54 pm

hi,

i have two independent variables that i want to have equal weighting with regards to how it affects my dependent variable, but the first independent variable runs from 1-10 while the second has a much larger range of values, which seems to mean that the Independent variable exerts a much greater effect on the dependent variable

I have no idea what it means to say two independent variables have equal weighting in this context, nor why you don't want to let the data decide how important a variable is.

But having said that, nothing stops you from dividing the second variable by 1,000 if you want to change its scale.
