Hello
I'm using Eviews 9 and I am experiencing 2 limitations
1) When I use the excel add-in to link data series, I get only the raw data - for instance, if I create a linked alpha series (linked to another alpha series) and use a valuemap to return different values, the data which is linked into excel is just the original raw data. Is this right? Presumably there is no way around this (I don't want to create a table as they won't update).
2) When I save a workfile into an excel file, my alpha series are limited to 24 characters. In my general options I have truncation set to 100. Can I change this?
Thanks.

Re: 2 Q's re Excel
1 - Using our excel add-in to retrieve an alpha series that uses a value map only returns the underlying value -- not the corresponding value from the associated map.
2 - I was able to save a workfile containing an alpha series of 60 characters in length as an Excel spreadsheet (XLSX) file and it appeared in Excel with all 60 characters. Make sure you are using the latest version of EViews 9 (my version is currently build date July 16, 2015).
