The error you are seeing is not a result of where EViews is installed but the location of the EViews temp directory. The directory C:\Users\John\AppData\ev_temp\TRAMO either does not exist or you do not have write permissions.
If you find you cannot create the directory or change the permissions, as a test create c:/temp on your computer, select in EViews Options->General Options->File Locations, and change the entry for Temp File Path to c:/temp.
