Error encountered, Help~

Postby nickyclp » Mon Jul 12, 2010 3:03 am

I am using eviews 4.1.

I was trying to create a workfile.
the steps were:

File > news > workfile > select undated > set end of observation > ok
File > import > read text-lotus-excel > set order > set upper-left data cell > set excel 5+ sheet name > name for series in number... > ok

My file is here.
fyp.xls
(1.71 MiB) Downloaded 286 times
however, an error message appear:

" invalid cell type found in excel file"

this problem only start occur today. before this it is fine.
is my excel file corrupted?

Thank you. :D

I really can't say what the problem might be. Given that you said that it worked until recently, there does appear to be a problem with the file as EViews 7 only reads the first column.

Why not export the data from Excel to text, cleanup if necessary, then re-read into Excel and EViews?
