awkwardness in tick labelling

Note the odd looking tick labelling. Not a bug, but perhaps suboptimal?

Yep, clearly suboptimal. The large font, plus switching from 4 digits to 5 digits is probably what caught us out. We'll investigate tweaking the algorithm a little to see if we can improve it. In the mean time you can always manually decrease the font, or try putting the text at an angle.
