Graph::axis commands

Postby Sharky » Tue Oct 15, 2024 4:03 am

I'm trying to suppress x axis labels in a bar chart

Code: Select all

freeze(rmseitgraph) rmseit.bar
Page 43 of https://cdn1.eviews.com/EViews%2012%20Command%20Ref.pdf mentions that Graph::axis can be used to modify axes but I can't see anywhere a list of the Graph::axis options for editing or setting anywhere in the reference. Am I looking in the wrong place? Are the options listed somewhere else?

Thanks

Follow-up question: how to manually label the grouped bars on the x axis? Presumably explained in the same place...

Which version of EViews are you using?

But, the best bet is to look in the Graph section of the Object Reference PDF (Help->PDF Docs)

Thanks Gareth, I'm on 12 University.

I've got a 4x4 grouped bar chart and have successfully labelled one dimension but not the other.

Code: Select all

matrix(5,5) rmseit for !bb=1 to 5 for !aa=1 to 5 rmseit(!aa,!bb) = rmse_a((!aa*7)-3,!bb+1) next next freeze(rmseitgraph) rmseit.bar rmseitgraph.setelem(1) legend("ARMA") rmseitgraph.setelem(2) legend("SW") rmseitgraph.setelem(3) legend("Approximating equation") rmseitgraph.setelem(4) legend("CVAR") rmseitgraph.setelem(5) legend("BVAR")
As well as the legend detailing the types of forecast, I need to replace the default 1-5 for the groups along the x axis with specific labels.
