URGENT - DUMMY VARIABLE

Postby kj6v07 » Sat Mar 13, 2010 9:32 am

Hi Im currently doing my dissertation on child labour using panel data of 50 countries for 5 years. I need to include a regional dummy variable which takes the value of 1 if the country is south asian. I am not too sure how to go about it. Please help me out if you have any idea.

Thank you
Amy

I believe all the countries are not in South Asia that's why you want to use a dummy variable for it. Just divide the country into two parts: those in South Asia and those which are not. then you can give all observations that fall in South Asia 1 otherwise 0.

If this doesn't help then you many need to give a little exposition to the data you have and what you intend to achieve.
