panel review
hello, i have a series of 29years (1980-2008) and 10 countries whose observations i am interested in, however, i am unable to transfotrm this into a panel format, i can input it as a series of crosssections and various timeseries plots but to put it in panel, changes all the dates and obvservations, please help...

We will need more information. What format is your data in? What have you done so far? How did it go wrong?

oh, that was entirely too brief i see...i have a data set of 10 countries over a 29 year time period. the data is in panel format {in excel it looks more like pooled time series}, with exports as my dependent variable and my right hand side variable including GDP, distance between the trading partners, including bi-variate variables that were both time and country specific...i have arrabnged it in stacks defined by the country of origin, with each country having 9 partners over the said 29 yr period. so far, i have look at the individual diagnostics and i have expected results for those, for example, some countries do not report their exports, and have 'corrected' the layout to accomodate for this, by among others, using logs...is this clearer?

i JUST DID! its very useful and kinda like a 'full proof step by step hand-holding guide', thankyou very much, i should find my way better now and move on to actual analysis...thanks alot again.
