Graphs

Postby Carrie » Tue Feb 09, 2010 2:34 pm

Hi,

I have one problem.

Name Mean Returen and Standard Deviation for the return
AUSTRALIA 0.161713312 7.279504921
AUSTRIA 0.186066149 6.523335186

After creating a graph, how can I mark country name with the corresponding data point in the graph (relationship between mean and standard deviation)?

Your question isn't really very clear.

What type of graph do you have, and what do you mean by "mark"?

Sorry,

What I want to do is to show the country name for each data point in the graph.

The mean is on the vertical axis, while the standard deviation is on the horizontal axis.

Thanks.

Carrie

Just open the graph options dialog, and set "Symbol/Obs label" to "Obs. Label" under "Lines & Symbols"

Oh, that's great.

But I just want to show two countries' name (not all) in the dataset.

So,,,,,,,,,

Can't think of a way to do that off the top of my head (which doesn't mean it isn't possible).

Try creating an alpha series with those two country names, leaving the other entries blank. Then in the graph otions
Axes&Scaling, Obs/Date axis, on the right under Axis labels put the name of the alpha series in the Optional... box.

I knew Startz would come to the rescue.
