Dummy Variable Help

Postby Wade1987 » Sat Oct 17, 2009 5:01 pm

Help would be greatly appreciated as i am really struggling with Eviews.

i have a dummy variable called used_cars, where 0 represents a used car and 1 represents a new car. However i also have other varaibles called profit commission and interestp. I need to find the descriptive statistics for these variables in terms of both the used car propotion and the new car proportion? i have no idea how to do this and i am increasingly getting frustrated, help would be greatly appreciated !!

Open the series. View/Descriptive Statistics/Statistics by classification

thankyou for your reply startz

but do you mean open the variable (such as profit, commission and interestp) and then classifying by used_cars?
or opening used_cars and classifying by the others?

Give it a try. I think the display makes things pretty clear.
