Save prompt not triggered after data refresh

Hi

I have noticed that workfiles which contains links to external databases (datastream) do not recognize that new data has arrived - ie. I do not get an automatic save prompt when closing the file.

My serial number is 90C05629 and running Eviews 9 on May 20 2015 build

EViews uses a pull model when using database links. In other words EViews does not get notifications when data within a database is changed.If you reopen your workfile, EViews will detect the existence of database links in your workfile and ask if you would like to refresh the data but it is up to you to refresh the manually otherwise. To refresh the data, in the workfile window select Object->Manage Links and Formulae.

ok just not sure if this was intentional, in Eviews 8 - I think a prompt was there after saying yes to refreshing data - I just need to remember to save when exiting a newly refreshed file.

Sorry I misunderstood the issue. We will change 9 such that after a refresh, the workfile will be marked as dirty and ask to save on exit.

I thought you meant EViews was not checking with the source (Datastream) and verifying the latest data was loaded into your workfile.
