Hi!
I have a panel data set with 10 000 firms and data on each of them over 13 years. I have specified a workfile stucture as dated panel with annual frequency from 1994 to 2006, Cross section id series are the "PCID" number of each firm, and the date series is "YEARS". I have also inserted for observation gaps so date follow a regular frequency.
I have then ran a filter and are left with fewer observations. But I am wondering how many firms that is now left in the sample?
Is there any function that estimates the number of firms in my sample by this "PCID" nr?
Very thankful for your help!
Number of firms in my sample

One way that comes to mind is to do a one-way tabulation on PCID.
