Hello!
I am new to creating databases and refreshing workfiles with data linked to the databases. I have just created a database for a set of forecasts. I have also created a workfile with the data linked to the database to allow myself to work on that. Eviews prompt me if I would like to update the workfile whenever I open it.
However, I have not been able to update any of the variables. The error message that came up was very long, and incomplete.
I am wondering if this is due to the fact that the database is stored on the office shared drive, while the workfile is stored on the hard drive on the laptop?
Would anyone know what the issue here is?
Thanks!

Re: Error refreshing series from database
Without knowing what the error is, it is impossible for us to say what went wrong.

Re: Error refreshing series from database
Hi Gareth,
I've attached a screenshot of half of the error message I get. But, it is basically all the variables that cannot be updated. The list was too long. Hence, the error message did not show the full thing either.
Sorry I had to hide some of the names of the folders, as they are sensitive information.
Any help would be great!
Thanks,
Jasmine

Re: Error refreshing series from database
That error basically indicates that EViews cannot find the original database source file. It might be that the file has moved, been deleted, or that you don't have permission to access it. Basically EViews asks Windows to open that file and Windows has said "Nope".
