Ordered logistic regression

Postby wdhr » Wed Feb 11, 2015 10:27 am

Hi guys,

I have a question about an ordered logistic regression.
First the case:
I have data, which answers a few statements where each respondent answers according to a likert scale(Fully disagree, disagree, indifferent, agree, fully agree). In the end they have a certain preference for choice a or choice b. We want to regress this choice on the multiple statements.

We tried this: we coded the likert scale from 0 till 4 and codes choices as 0/1. Than we used object-> equation-> ordered-> logit and we get the error: Unable to compute automatic estimates of starting values. Use user-supplied staring values. We changed this and get an answers, but we are not sure if we did this right and what the coefficients mean.

Thanks in advance.
