IMF forecast data from Datastream

Postby rousing » Thu Apr 10, 2014 6:18 am

Hi

I have a problem retrieving IMF forecast data from datastream using the fetch command.
For instance, the following command "fetch(d="ds_db",link) USWOGDP.A" only provides data up to 2014 - although forecast data exists up to 2019.
In the Excel based Datastream requestsheet an end-date has to be supplied in order to get the forecast included.
Is there a similar adjustment possibility available for the fetch command?

Thank you very much in advance for your assistance.

Best regards
Rasmus

Normally you would do something similar to the below code:

Code: Select all

fetch(d="ds_db",link) USWOGDP.A~1980-01-01~:2020-01-01
Unfortunately, the Datastream servers are not returning the expected response. I will contact Thomson and see what can be done. For the time being, you will need to import the data into Excel and then copy and paste the values into EViews.

Somehow I did not get the forum notification of your latest answer, but I just installed the new patch and it is working perfectly :)

Unfortunately you'll have to upgrade to EViews 8.
