Histogram of used/common sample

Postby ghost63 » Wed Jul 01, 2009 8:19 am

Hello,

I am new to Eviews and I just encountered a little problem. I tried to find a solutin via the search-function, but could not find one. Anyways, here is my problem:

I use a sample with ~230 observations and run a number of regressions. What I want to do now, is to create Histograms of the observations and variables, that were used in the actual regression. As I do not have observations for each variable and observation, not all of the 230 are used in the regression.

I hope that you understand my problem and that there is a way to solve the problem...

Thx a lot
Daniel

Not quite sure I follow exactly, but it seems you're saying that you want to set the sample so that it is equal to only the observations that were used during an estimation?

One trick to do that is to estimate the equation, then set the sample to be all the observations for which the RESID series is not missing:

Code: Select all

smpl if resid<>na

Thx for the fast answer. That should do the trick...
