two questions,please help!

Postby francescot » Mon Jun 22, 2009 8:25 pm

Hello there,

I am a eviews new user, got two questions here.

I am working with GDP and consumption data now and I got part of my data from ADB(Asian develop bank) and the rest from OECD.
The ADB data are not seasonally adjusted, while oecd data are seasonally adjusted. My supervisor asked me to do seasonal adjustment to
ADB data in the same way as the OECD data. But the OECD data are only described as seasonally adjusted, how could I know how they do the seasonal adjustment to those data.and there are four different ways
in eviews regarding seasonal adjustment, could someone tell me which one I should choose and how to perform seasonal adjustment in eviews please.

the second question is about series and testing.

I calculated cross-country correlations of GDP and consumption CORR(Y1,Y2) CORR(C1,C2)
Say,if GDP correlation between the USA and Canada is R1,consumption correlation between them is R2.what I need to do is to make fisher's transformation:
Z=1/2ln[(1+R)/(1-R)] for R1 and R2 and then test:
H0:Z1=Z2. H1:Z1<>Z2
and report the P value for the test.I want to know if I can do all of this in eviews,if so,how to do this?

Thanks,appreciate it very much!
