Change the Base year of an index

Dear technician,

Could I ask you a question please? It might be simple and naive.

Let's say a CPI series in a large panel data. I want to normalize it so that year 2000=100. The Formula is (CPI/CPI(2000) )*100. The question is how do I generate this CPI(2000) index? What I did was copy the CPI in another page and contract it with year 2000 only, then copy it back to the original page. I guess there must be a quicker way?
