Import panel data?

Import panel data?

I have a problem about importing panel data into Eviews 7. Hopefully someone out there can help me out!

I want to run a fixed effect model for a large number of COMPANIES (>100) over a 8 YEAR time period. The companies are from 24 COUNTRIES for which I want to have Fixed Cross-Section.
Eviews does not allow me to enter COUNTRY as my cross section id series ("Repeated values found in source id series"). I imagine one way of solving this would be to create dummy variables for each country but I am not sure of the implications. Does anyone have any suggestion how to import my data into Eviews to overcome this problem?

Enter @expand(country) as a variable in the equation.
