Excel hyperlink

Hello, I'm using EViews 8, MS Office 2010 and Windows 7. I found a bug: If I'd make hyperlink to EViews workfile in Excel and click it, EViews would open, but if I'd create new group in EViews it wouldn't close until I save it and I couldn't create another group. After some time Excel also prints an error: "An unexpected error has occured".

Can you send me detailed instructions on how to recreate the bug? Or maybe send me the excel spreadsheet that has the link to EViews and explain exactly what you did inside EViews after clicking the link?

In attachments you can find Excel and EViews files. Excel file contains hyperlink to EViews workfile. I open workfile via hyperlink, open as group series1 and series2 (by rightmouth click) and than I cannot close it. Close button just do not working. And Excel prints error message.

Thanks for the files. I was able to reproduce the problem and I found the bug that was causing it (the new OLE functionality in EViews 8 was returning an error to Excel when you clicked on the hyperlink).

It has been fixed and will be available in the next patch -- maybe Monday.
