Adding cross sections to existing panel data (merging penal)

Postby xsw » Wed Jan 22, 2014 3:10 pm

Hello,

Is there a way of adding cross sections or years to the existing panel data file?
For example say I have a panel data from 1992 to 2008 with 60 cross-sections, can I change it to 1992 to 2011 with 70 cross-sections?

The truth is I have two panel data sets with some overlapping years and cross-sections, and I want to merge them. Is there an easy way to do it?

Many thanks

Probably the easiest thing to do is make a new empty workfile with 70 cross-sections and the large time periods, then copy the series over from the small ones to the large one.

That's exactly what I'm thinking. Thanks for your reply.
