EViews temp files

Postby CharlieEVIEWS » Thu Jan 02, 2014 7:08 pm

Dear all,

I'm trying to concurrently run several different, albeit similar programs (robustness checks of one very large computational routine). However, when I attempt to run the programs concurrently, I get error messages which do not occur when running consecutively , and I believe that this is due to the way EViews (EViews 8, most recent build) is using temporary files. Is there a way to automatically create new 'temp' folders or otherwise which are specific to .prgs, or any other alternative workaround to this?

Very best wishes as always,

Charlie

Except in specific cases, EViews doesn't use temporary files. What do your programs do?

Hi Gareth!

Wow, speedy reply as always! One of the main error messages relates to .x13, and another one relates to matrix sizes (stom size is incorrect). There will possibly be others in the rest of the program, although the majority of the remainder just computes an extremely large number of different models from similar classes.

Happy new year

Charlie

X13 does use temporary files. But that is X13, not just EViews. There's no way to get X13 to behave differently.
