Importing in Eviews8 from Excel 2010 spreadsheets

Postby Consultant » Mon Dec 02, 2013 4:03 am

Hello,
is there a program line allowing to import in Eviews8 from multiple Excel 2010 spreadsheets in a workbook, numeric time series in columns identified by a label/name just above them, excluding any other information, no matter where data is to be found in the spreadsheet (i.e. the table design could vary)?
Thank you in advance.

Not really sure what you're asking, but either the WFOPEN or IMPORT commands can be used to import data from Excel into EViews.

Dear Gareth,
What I need is an instruction/program that allows Eviews, for example, go to the CUP worksheet in the Excel file Example Eviews, go to the cell B9 containing the name of the first variable (CFINMEN) and import it along with its data from year 1970 to 2016 (B10:B56), repeating the operation for all the other variables in the spreadsheet (i.e. CFINISBLSM CG I DSTDST DSTAMC XB XBHOR XBMET XS XCOMM CETR MB MBCAFFOB MBE MS MCOMM CLUX PIB_DEP_OBS).
This should be possible even if the design of the spreadsheet is different, i.e. the name of the first variable is not in cell B9.
I hope my question is more clear now.
Thanks for your help ( I am an absolute beginner in Eviews).

Yep, the WFOPEN or IMPORT commands will do that. They're fairly well documented in the Command Reference.
