Hi,
I am new to Eviews and would be truly greatful if you could help me since I am having some trouble figuring out how I should stack the data in order to run my regression.
I am using a gravity model with 31 countries for the years 1990-2012. The problem I am facing is that I am using country-pairs in order to measure variables such as the product of the two economies' GDPs and the distance between them. In the forum on "how to enter data into a panel workfile" an example is given where one can state the year on the first column and the country on the second column, followed by the variables of interest in the following columns. However, if one is using country-pairs, how can one arrange, for instance, the distance between two countries, or insert a dummy that stands for a common language? Would it be best if instead of using a single country I use country pairs as the identifiers?
Please help! I haven't been able to find any forums that explain how to insert the data for country pairs.
Thanks!
