First, thank you for adding the w="?" option to the solveopt options in Eviews 8 as requested some time ago. Testing the April 5 build, however, the option does not seem to work. Using the following line, both from the command line or from within a program:
fullmodel.solve(i=p, o=n, j=a, t=g, w=f, m=200, c=0.00001)
produces no error message, but does not seem to actually do the equivalent of unchecking the box "Solve model in both directions" in the dialog. I say this based on two observations:
1- The model does not solve with the command, whereas it does solve when I select these same options in the dialog.
2- After executing this command from the command line and then opening the dialog, all the chosen options are correctly set up in the dialog, except the w=f option, i.e. the box "Solve model in both directions" remains checked.
Thank you and best regards.
New w=? option in solveopt
