Eviews 8 crashes after importing 48million observations

Hello,

i´m using the new evies 8 64-bit programm and want to import a bulk-database from oecd. The data is bilateral trade data with about 48 million rows and 8 series. When the importing progress is almost completed eviews always crashes before creating the workfile. I need this data for the gravity equation of my bachelor-assay.

The first thing the EViews folks are going to ask you is what's the build date for your copy of EViews. (Help/About Eviews.)

The bulid date of my eviews is april 5 2013.

Could you provide details of how to get the data, so we can try it ourselves?

The page is http://stats.oecd.org/
then you choose bilateral trade by industry
go with the cursor on export and click related files
then you can download the csv-dataset BTDIxE Ed 2011 Rev1 as bulk-data.
The file is about 1,8 gigabyte.

The problem is that the last few observations of the file have large comments in them (they're not really observations at all).

We'll fix the crash though. In the meantime, ignoring the last few observations will work:
